7月, I made a promise that we would have a plan in place at the University of Denver to substantively 和 urgently address issues of diversity, 股本, 和 inclusion (DEI) on campus this year. In 8月ust, we shared the draft of our action plan 和 solicited feedback from the DU community. 今天, we are moving into the final 和 most critical stage 和 commencing the vital work of its implementation over the academic year.

Dear DU community members,
Twenty years ago, the University of Denver held its first Diversity Summit. At that time, we took one of the first major steps toward making our campus more inclusive. For many, looking back on those 20 years brings up conflicting emotions. We recognize the ways we’ve moved forward, 和 we feel proud. But we also recognize there is always more to be done.

Dear DU community members,
I want to share some important news concerning our diversity, 股本 和 inclusion efforts at the University of Denver. 在春天, we temporarily paused the search for our new vice chancellor for diversity, 股本, 和 inclusion (VCDEI) after receiving helpful feedback on what our faculty, 学生, 和 staff truly want from this role. We learned that DU yearns for a VCDEI that can speak to 和 represent the breadth of our community. As such, we changed the position description to more accurately reflect this shared goal.
